Data Entry & Navigation Tips:

• If a letter on a command button is underlined, hold Alt and press that letter to click the button. For example, Alt-X to Exit.
• The Esc key closes the form.
• If you make a mistake, Shift-Esc before moving out of the field to revert the data back to the original value.
• Tab, the arrow keys or Enter moves to the next field and saves the data.
• The status bar at the bottom of the screen tells you what data is expected in the field.
• Home moves to the first record of continuous forms. End moves to the last record.
• A yellow ToolTip box appears if you hover over any command button for more than a second.
• After you tab into a Combo box, the F4 key opens it without using the mouse. Arrow down to the value you want and press tab to move to the next field.
• Any label that is blue is a hyperlink that you can click to open another related form.
• Data in gray fields is locked. Data in white fields can be updated.
• Double click any date field for quick change to another useful date. Usually the current date.
• The + and - keys increase or decrease a date by a day each time they are pressed.
• If the date is in this year, you don't have to enter the year. You don't have to enter the century for dates in this century.
• F1 for context sensitive Help.
• PageDown and PageUp move to the next or previous record on the Member form. They move to the next or previous screen on continuous forms.
• If you receive an error message that you don't understand, seek information from a more experienced user. Ignoring error messages compounds problems.
• Use reports to find invalid or missing data.
• Alt-Z shows who last updated each record. The Report Log logs when major batch operations were performed on data. These can help you troubleshoot intermittent problems.
• The colored area at the top of the form is used for navigation to a single record. The gray area is where you change the data. Buttons at the bottom of the form perform actions on the data.
• The record counter in the lower left corner of most forms shows which record you are on.
